Taking Care and Compassion to the Homeless
Uplift is
a volunteer-driven, community-led nonprofit serving Kansas City’s homeless neighbors through direct, hands-on care.
Our four Sprinter vans head out three nights a week, bringing meals, clothing, supplies, and conversation to those living on the streets.

Our Impact
Since our founding in 1990, Uplift has grown into one of the largest volunteer-led homeless outreach programs in the country.
Over 3,000 Volunteers serve with Uplift every year
Over 50,000 Meals, and countless clothing items, and supplies shared each year.
More than half of our volunteers come back for a second shift.
Hundreds commit to a regular, recurring shift at least once a month.
That is compassion taking root!
But our impact is not in numbers.
It’s in moments.
